Sam Lau received the BA degree in Music from the University of California at Berkeley, and the MA and PhD degree in Musical Composition from the University of California at Santa Barbara. His composition awards include the Sherill C. Corwin Metropolitan Theaters Awards for Excellence in Composition. He is currently Head of Music at the Hong Kong Chinese International School.
