and now some songs from my favorite cartoon movies and TV series:
Sanguo Yanyi is the popular Chinese vernacular novel by Luo Guanzhong (c. 1330-1400). This novel is epic in scope and captures the intrigues, rivalry, disunity, power strife, and military adventures of the generals and warlords in the last years of the Han Dynasty leading to the Three Kingdoms (220-280 A.D.), which marked the beginning of almost four centuries of division in Chinese history (likened to the Dark Ages after the fall of Rome in European history.) The Three Kingdoms manificently portrays a wide spectrum of legendary characters, heroes and bandits and all, and offers great insights to strategic and tactical maneuvers and dealings. The lyrics, from the novel, begins:
, or
Changjiang (Yangtze River) waters flow hurriedly east, waves and sprays outliving all heroes ...
Next a BIG BONUS:
Guest appearance from my cousin Ming Ka (age 6-1/2), who can sing much better than I do. She sings the theme song from Ding Dong, the Cat with a Bell. (This is a hefty 800K .au file. Take your time to get it. But if you have RealAudio, click this RealAudio version
to listen to the song within seconds!) (10 Apr 95)
If you don't know who Ding Dong is, you can go to my favorite cartoons and movies page.
May I have your humble critique?
