"Honesty and Uprightness" must be more precious to you than your own life, and that you are willing to bear the cross to follow Jesus daily, holding fast onto death the teachings of LORD and Jesus, would you then believe the word of LORD and His promises.

我豈沒有吩咐你麼．你當剛強壯膽．不要懼怕、也不要驚惶、因為你無論往那裡去、耶和華你的 神必與你同在。 After the death of Moses the servant of the LORD, the LORD said to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' minister, "Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, into the land which I am giving to them, to the people of Israel. Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given to you, as I promised to Moses. From the wilderness and this Lebanon as far as the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites to the Great Sea toward the going down of the sun shall be your territory. No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will not fail you or forsake you. Be strong and of good courage; for you shall cause this people to inherit the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.
Only be strong and very courageous, being careful to do according to all the law which Moses my servant commanded you; turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go.
This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success.
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; be not frightened, neither be dismayed; for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go." |

The words of LORD to Joshua is to us too. Do you believe that LORD will fulfill his promise : "that if we are careful to walk in his Law, He will be with us" ?
上帝不是不管, 不理我們. 上帝創造天使, 也設立天使長, 主管世上各事 : 一個人受祝福, 一個人受咒詛, 一地方風調雨順, 一地方天災乾旱, 一政權盛, 一政權衰, 都有天使管理.
It is not that LORD does not manage the Earth. In fact, LORD created multitudes of angels to manage everything he created. And he appointed among them various archangels too. Whether a person is blessed, or cursed, whether a place receives its blessing of rain, or suffers drought, whether a government flourishes, or declines, .... these and numerous others are under the management of the angels.

And lo, six men came from the direction of the upper gate, which faces north, every man with his weapon for slaughter in his hand, and with them was a man clothed in linen, with a writing case at his side. And they went in and stood beside the bronze altar. Now the glory of the God of Israel had gone up from the cherubim on which it rested to the threshold of the house; and he called to the man clothed in linen, who had the writing case at his side. And the LORD said to him, "Go through the city, through Jerusalem, and put a mark upon the foreheads of the men who sigh and groan over all the abominations that are committed in it." And to the others he said in my hearing, "Pass through the city after him, and smite; your eye shall not spare, and you shall show no pity; slay old men outright, young men and maidens, little children and women, but touch no one upon whom is the mark. And begin at my sanctuary." So they began with the elders who were before the house. Then he said to them, "Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain. Go forth." So they went forth, and smote in the city. And while they were smiting, and I was left alone, I fell upon my face, and cried, "Ah Lord GOD! wilt thou destroy all that remains of Israel in the outpouring of thy wrath upon Jerusalem?" Then he said to me, "The guilt of the house of Israel and Judah is exceedingly great; the land is full of blood, and the city full of injustice; for they say, 'The LORD has forsaken the land, and the LORD does not see.' As for me, my eye will not spare, nor will I have pity, but I will requite their deeds upon their heads."
And lo, the man clothed in linen, with the writing case at his side, brought back word, saying, "I have done as thou didst command me." |

In [2 Kings 6:13-17] King of Syria wanted to catch Elisha, a servant of LORD. But he didn't know that there were many angels sent by the LORD to protect Elisha.

And Elisha prayed, and said, Jehovah, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And Jehovah opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

Jesus : "See that you do not despise one of these little ones; for I tell you that in heaven their angels always behold the face of my Father who is in heaven. 學生不能高過先生、僕人不能高過主人． 學生和先生一樣、僕人和主人一樣、也就罷了．人既罵家主是別西卜、何況他的家人呢。〔別西卜是鬼王的名〕 所以不要怕他們．因為掩蓋的事、沒有不露出來的．隱藏的事、沒有不被人知道的。 我在暗中告訴你們的、你們要在明處說出來．你們耳中所聽的、要在房上宣揚出來。 那殺身體不能殺靈魂的、不要怕他們．惟有能把身體和靈魂都滅在地獄裡的、正要伯他。 兩個麻雀、不是賣一分銀子麼．若是你們的父不許、一個也不能掉在地上。 就是你們的頭髮、也都被數過了。 所以不要懼怕．你們比許多麻雀還貴重。 凡在人面前認我的、我在我天上的父面前、也必認他。
凡在人面前不認我的、我在我天上的父面前、也必不認他。
If they have called the master of the house Be-el'zebul, how much more will they malign those of his household. "So have no fear of them; for nothing is covered that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known. What I tell you in the dark, utter in the light; and what you hear whispered, proclaim upon the housetops.
And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground without your Father's will.
But even the hairs of your head are all numbered.
Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. So every one who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven;
but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven. |

我所以行事與他們反對、把他們帶到仇敵之地．那時他們未受割禮的心、若謙卑了、他們也服了罪孽的刑罰、
我就要記念我與雅各所立的約、與以撒所立的約、與亞伯拉罕所立的約．並要記念這地。
他們離開這地、地在荒廢無人的時候、就要享受安息．並且他們要服罪孽的刑罰、因為他們厭棄了我的典章、心中厭惡了我的律例。
雖是這樣、他們在仇敵之地、我卻不厭棄他們、也不厭惡他們、將他們盡行滅絕、也不背棄我與他們所立的約、因為我是耶和華他們的 神．
我卻要為他們的緣故、記念我與他們先祖所立的約、他們的先祖是我在列邦人眼前、從埃及地領出來的、為要作他們的 神．我是耶和華。 LORD : "If you walk in my statutes and observe my commandments and do them, then I will give you your rains in their season, and the land shall yield its increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit. And your threshing shall last to the time of vintage, and the vintage shall last to the time for sowing; and you shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land securely. And I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid; and I will remove evil beasts from the land, and the sword shall not go through your land. And you shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword. Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall chase ten thousand; and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword. And I will have regard for you and make you fruitful and multiply you, and will confirm my covenant with you. And you shall eat old store long kept, and you shall clear out the old to make way for the new. And I will make my abode among you, and my soul shall not abhor you. And I will walk among you, and will be your God, and you shall be my people. I am the LORD your God, who brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, that you should not be their slaves; and I have broken the bars of your yoke and made you walk erect. But if you will not hearken to me, and will not do all these commandments, if you spurn my statutes, and if your soul abhors my ordinances, so that you will not do all my commandments, but break my covenant, I will do this to you: I will appoint over you sudden terror, consumption, and fever that waste the eyes and cause life to pine away. And you shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it; I will set my face against you, and you shall be smitten before your enemies; those who hate you shall rule over you, and you shall flee when none pursues you. And if in spite of this you will not hearken to me, then I will chastise you again sevenfold for your sins, and I will break the pride of your power, and I will make your heavens like iron and your earth like brass; and your strength shall be spent in vain, for your land shall not yield its increase, and the trees of the land shall not yield their fruit. Then if you walk contrary to me, and will not hearken to me, I will bring more plagues upon you, sevenfold as many as your sins. And I will let loose the wild beasts among you, which shall rob you of your children, and destroy your cattle, and make you few in number, so that your ways shall become desolate. And if by this discipline you are not turned to me, but walk contrary to me, then I also will walk contrary to you, and I myself will smite you sevenfold for your sins. And I will bring a sword upon you, that shall execute vengeance for the covenant; and if you gather within your cities I will send pestilence among you, and you shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy. When I break your staff of bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and shall deliver your bread again by weight; and you shall eat, and not be satisfied. And if in spite of this you will not hearken to me, but walk contrary to me, then I will walk contrary to you in fury, and chastise you myself sevenfold for your sins. You shall eat the flesh of your sons, and you shall eat the flesh of your daughters. And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your incense altars, and cast your dead bodies upon the dead bodies of your idols; and my soul will abhor you. And I will lay your cities waste, and will make your sanctuaries desolate, and I will not smell your pleasing odors. And I will devastate the land, so that your enemies who settle in it shall be astonished at it. And I will scatter you among the nations, and I will unsheathe the sword after you; and your land shall be a desolation, and your cities shall be a waste. Then the land shall enjoy its sabbaths as long as it lies desolate, while you are in your enemies' land; then the land shall rest, and enjoy its sabbaths. As long as it lies desolate it shall have rest, the rest which it had not in your sabbaths when you dwelt upon it. And as for those of you that are left, I will send faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies; the sound of a driven leaf shall put them to flight, and they shall flee as one flees from the sword, and they shall fall when none pursues. They shall stumble over one another, as if to escape a sword, though none pursues; and you shall have no power to stand before your enemies. And you shall perish among the nations, and the land of your enemies shall eat you up. And those of you that are left shall pine away in your enemies' lands because of their iniquity; and also because of the iniquities of their fathers they shall pine away like them. But if they confess their iniquity and the iniquity of their fathers in their treachery which they committed against me, and also in walking contrary to me, so that I walked contrary to them and brought them into the land of their enemies; if then their uncircumcised heart is humbled and they make amends for their iniquity; then I will remember my covenant with Jacob, and I will remember my covenant with Isaac and my covenant with Abraham, and I will remember the land. But the land shall be left by them, and enjoy its sabbaths while it lies desolate without them; and they shall make amends for their iniquity, because they spurned my ordinances, and their soul abhorred my statutes. Yet for all that, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not spurn them, neither will I abhor them so as to destroy them utterly and break my covenant with them; for I am the LORD their God; but I will for their sake remember the covenant with their forefathers, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the nations, that I might be their God: I am the LORD." |

Whoever then relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but he who does them and teaches them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. |
我很多年前讀過一個賽車手的故事. 他賽車 十多年, 從沒有意外. 有人問他駕車方法.

When I was young, I read about a racing driver, who never had an accident for many many years. People asked him the method to drive.
His first rule is that "keep all traffic rules.". He said that one who rushes to the destination, and one who keeps all traffic rules, and stops at red light, would arrive at the destination only ten or more minutes late.
His second rule is "consideration". He said "causing an accident is not good to anyone". Hence he would observe carefully the action of other drivers, and from their moves, he foresee their intention, and "give way, making it easier for them".
Do you think his extremely safe driving record is an accident, or been protected by Guardian angels because he walked in LORD's ways?

撒迦利亞 : 我又舉目觀看、見有一飛行的書卷。 他問我說、你看見甚麼．我回答說、我看見一飛行的書卷、長二十肘、寬十肘。 他對我說、這是發出行在遍地上的咒詛．凡偷竊的必按卷上這面的話除滅．凡起假誓的必按卷上那面的話除滅。 萬軍之耶和華說、我必使這書卷出去、進入偷竊人的家、和指我名起假誓人的家、必常在他家裡、連房屋帶木石都毀滅了。 Zechariah : Again I lifted my eyes and saw, and behold, a flying scroll! And he said to me, "What do you see?" I answered, "I see a flying scroll; its length is twenty cubits, and its breadth ten cubits." Then he said to me, "This is the curse that goes out over the face of the whole land; for every one who steals shall be cut off henceforth according to it, and every one who swears falsely shall be cut off henceforth according to it.
I will send it forth, says the LORD of hosts, and it shall enter the house of the thief, and the house of him who swears falsely by my name; and it shall abide in his house and consume it, both timber and stones." |
