Q1. When one man's ox hurts another's, so that it dies....

Q2. It is known that the ox has been accustomed to gore in the past, and its owner has not kept it in, and it gores to death another's cow......












A1. They shall sell the live ox and divide the price of it; and the dead beast also they shall divide. (Ex. 21:35)

A2. He shall pay ox for ox, and the dead beast shall be his. (Ex.21:36)

Q3. When a man leaves a pit open, or when a man digs a pit and does not cover it, and an ox or an ass falls into it.












A3. the owner of the pit shall make it good; he shall give money to its owner, and the dead beast shall be his. (Ex. 21:33,34))

Q4. When a man causes a field or vineyard to be grazed over, or lets his beast loose and it feeds in another man's field,...












A4. He shall make restitution from the best in his own field and in his own vineyard. (Ex. 22:5)

Q5. One kindles a fire, the fire breaks out and catches in thorns so that the stacked grain or the standing grain or the field of others is consumed.












A5. he that kindled the fire shall make full restitution. (Ex. 22:6)

A6. he shall pay five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep. He shall make restitution; if he has nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft. (Ex. 22:1)

A7. If the stolen beast is found alive in his possession, whether it is an ox or an ass or a sheep, he shall pay double. (Ex. 22:4)

A8. If the thief is found, he shall pay double. (Ex. 22:7)
(Note: when a man is sold, he shall serve his owner six years, and his price is calculated according to the service he renders in six years; in the seventh year he shall go out free, for nothing. See Ex. 21:1-6)

Q9. One deceives his neighbour in a matter of deposit or security, or through robbery, or if he has oppressed his neighbour or has found what was lost and lied about it, swearing falsely,...












A9. he shall restore it in full, and shall add a fifth to it, and give it to him to whom it belongs. (Lev. 6:2-5)
(NOTE: breach of faith against man is the same as breach of faith against LORD. Honesty and keeping one's promise is basic in one's conduct.)

Q10. One kills another's beast....












A10. He who kills a beast shall make it good; and he who kills a man shall be put to death. (Lev. 24:21)

Q11. When an ox gores a man or a woman to death,.....

Q12. But if the ox has been accustomed to gore in the past, and its owner has been warned but has not kept it in, and it kills a man or a woman.....












A11. the ox shall be stoned, and its flesh shall not be eaten; but the owner of the ox shall be clear.

A12. the ox shall be stoned, and its owner also shall be put to death. If a ransom is laid on him, then he shall give for the redemption of his life whatever is laid upon him. (Ex. 21:28-30)

A13. Whoever strikes his father or his mother shall be put to death. (Ex. 21:15).

A14. Whoever curses his father or his mother shall be put to death. (Ex. 21:17)

Honour your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which the LORD your God gives you. (Ex. 20:12)

Q15. When men quarrel and one strikes the other with a stone or with his fist and the man does not die but keeps his bed, then if the man rises again and walks abroad with his staff....












A15. he that struck him shall be clear; only he shall pay for the loss of his time, and shall have him thoroughly healed. (Ex. 21:18,19)

Q16. One steals a man, whether he sells him or is found in possession of him,......












A16. he shall be put to death. (Ex. 21:16)

Q17. One struck another down with an instrument of iron, so that he died,......

Q18. One struck another down with a stone in the hand, by which a man may die, and he died,......

A17, A18, A19, A20. he is a murderer; the murderer shall be put to death.

A21. Manslayer.

The manslayer shall flee to one of the cities of refuge (there are certain cities designated as cities of refuge), and shall stand at the entrance of the gate of the city, and explain his case to the elders of that city; then they shall take him into the city, and give him a place, and he shall remain with them. And if the avenger of blood pursues him, they shall not give up the slayer into his hand; because he killed his neighbour unwittingly, having had no enmity against him in times past. And he shall remain in that city until he has stood before the congregation for judgment, the congregation shall judge between the manslayer and the avenger of blood, in accordance with these ordinances; and the congregation shall rescue the manslayer from the hand of the avenger of blood, and the congregation shall restore him to his city of refuge, to which he had fled, and he shall live in it until the death of the high priest who was anointed with the holy oil. (Num. 35:16-25, Josh. 20:2-6)

Q22. When men strive together, and hurt a woman with child, so that there is a miscarriage, (1) and yet no harm follows,

A22. the one who hurt her shall be fined, according as the woman's husband shall lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine.

A23. if any harm follows, then you shall give life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burn for burn, wound for wound, stripe for stripe. (Ex. 21:22-25)

Q24. When a man causes a disfigurement in his neighbour,........












A24. As he has done it shall be done to him, fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth; as he has disfigured a man, he shall be disfigured. (Lev. 24:19-20)
(NOTE: He MUST NOT take vengeance with his own hand, else he transgressed the law himself. He must leave it to God and the judges.)

Q25. If a man seduces a virgin who is not betrothed, and lies with her, .......

Q26. If a man commits adultery with the wife of his neighbour......












A25. He shall give the marriage present for her, and make her his wife. If her father utterly refuses to give her to him, he shall pay money equivalent to the marriage present for virgins. (Ex. 22:16,17)

A26. both the adulterer and the adulteress shall be put to death. (Lev. 20:10)

Q27. One afflicts a widow or orphan,........












A27. You shall not afflict any widow or orphan. If you do afflict them, and they cry out to me ('me' refers to God), I will surely hear their cry; and my wrath will burn, and I will kill you with the sword, and your wives shall become widows and your children fatherless. (Ex. 22:22-24)

Q28. The following sins are punishable by death in the Law of God:-

lies with a beast (Ex. 22:19)
lies with a male as with a woman. (Lev. 20:13)
medium, wizard (Lev. 20:27)
lies with father's wife (Lev. 20:11)
lies with his daughter-in-law (Lev. 20:12)

A28. Do not turn to mediums or wizards; do not seek them out, to be defiled by them. (Lev. 19:31)

You shall not practice augury or witchcraft. (Lev. 19:26)

None of you shall approach any one near of kin to him to uncover nakedness. (Lev. 18:6)

Q29. One delays to pay wages to a hired servant (wages paid daily).....












A29. You shall give him his hire on the day he earns it, before the sun goes down (for he is poor, and sets his heart upon it) (Deut. 24:15)
The wages of a hired servant shall not remain with you all night until the morning. (Lev. 19:13)

Q30. If a man borrows anything of his neighbour, and it is hurt or dies,........

Q31. If a man hires anything of his neighbour, and it is hurt or dies,.........












A30. If a man borrows anything of his neighbour, and it is hurt of dies, the owner not being with it, he shall make full restitution. If the owner was with it, he shall not make restitution.
(NOTE: my understanding of this is that if the owner is present when the ox is hurt, it is extremely unlikely that the borrower could have hurt the ox intentionally. When the owner is not present, out of honor towards our neighbour, we, as a borrower, should make restitution.)

A31. if it was hired, it came for its hire. (Ex. 22:14-15)

Q32. If a man delivers to his neighbour an ass or an ox or a sheep or any beast to keep,

(1) if it is stolen from him,
(2) if it is torn by beasts,
(3) if it dies or is hurt or is driven away, without any one seeing it,......












A32. If a man delivers to his neighbour an ass or an ox or a sheep or any beast to keep, and it dies or is hurt or is driven away, without anyone seeing it, an oath by the LORD shall be between them both to see whether he has not put his hand to his neighbour's property; and the owner shall accept the oath, and he shall not make restitution. But if it is stolen from him, he shall make restitution to its owner. If it is torn by beasts, let him bring it as evidence; he shall not make restitution for what has been torn. (Ex. 22:10-13)

TEN COMMANDMENTS

  1. You shall have no other gods before me.

  2. You shall not make yourself a graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them or serve them; for I the LORD your GOD am a jealous GOD, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing steadfast love to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.

  3. You shall not take the name of the LORD your GOD in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.

  4. Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labour, and do all your work; but the seventh day is a sabbath to the LORD your GOD; in it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your manservant, or your maidservant, or your cattle, or the sojourner who is within your gates; for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day; therefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day and hallowed it.

  5. Honour your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which the LORD your GOD gives you.

  6. You shall not kill.

  7. You shall not commit adultery.

  8. You shall not steal.

  9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbour.

  10. You shall not covet your neighbour's house; you shall not covet your neighbour's wife, or his manservant, or his maidservant, or his ox, or his ass, or anything, that is your neighbour's.

SOME COMMANDMENTS OF GOD OTHER THAN THE 10 COMMANDMENTS.

If you meet your enemy's ox or his ass going astray, you shall bring it back to him. (Ex. 23:4)

If you see the ass of one who hates you lying under its burden, you shall refrain from leaving him with it, you shall help him to lift it up. (Ex. 23:5)

You shall not hate your brother in your heart, but you shall reason with your neighbour, lest you bear sin because of him. (Lev. 19:17)
If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. (Mt. 18:15)

You shall not take vengeance or bear any grudge against the sons of your own people, but you shall love your neighbour as yourself. (Lev. 19:18)

If you lend money to any of my people with you who is poor, you shall not be to him as a creditor, and you shall not exact interest from him. If ever you take your neighbour's garment in pledge, you shall restore it to him before the sun goes down; for that is his only covering, it is his mantle for his body; in what else shall he sleep? And if he cries to me, I will hear, for I am compassionate. ("I" refers to God) (Ex. 22:25-27)

And if your brother becomes poor, and cannot maintain himself with you, you shall maintain him, as a stranger and a sojourner he shall live with you. Take no interest from him or increase, but fear your God; that your brother may live beside you. You shall not lend him your money at interest, nor give him your food for profit. (Lev. 25:35-37)

When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not reap your field to its very border, neither shall you gather the gleanings after your harvest. And you shall not strip your vineyard bare, neither shall you gather the fallen grapes of your vineyard; you shall leave them for the poor and for the sojourner. (Lev. 19:9-10)

For six years you shall sow your land and gather in its yield; but the seventh year you shall let it rest and lie fallow, that the poor of your people may eat; and what they leave the wild beasts may eat. You shall do likewise with your vineyard, and with your olive orchard. (Ex.23:10-11)

And whether the mother is a cow or a ewe, you shall not kill both her and her young in one day. (Lev. 22:28)

You shall not utter a false report. You shall not join hands with a wicked man, to be a malicious witness. (Ex. 23:1)

You shall not follow a multitude to do evil; nor shall you bear witness in a suit, turning aside after a multitude, so as to pervert justice; nor shall you be partial to a poor man in his suit. (Ex. 23:2-3)

You shall do no injustice in judgment; you shall not be partial to the poor or defer to the great, but in righteousness shall you judge your neighbour. (Lev. 19:15)

If any one sins in that he hears a public adjuration to testify and though he is a witness, whether he has seen or come to know the matter, yet does not speak, he shall bear his iniquity. (Lev. 5:1)

You shall not oppress a stranger; you know the heart of a stranger, for you (refers to the Israelites) were strangers in the land of Egypt. (Ex. 23:9)
The stranger who sojourns with you shall be to you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself. (Lev. 19:34)
There shall be one law for the native and for the stranger who sojourns among you. (Ex. 12:49)

You shall do no wrong in judgment, in measures of length or weight or quantity. You shall have just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin. (Lev. 19:35-36)

And if you sell to your neighbour or buy from your neighbour, you shall not wrong one another. (Lev. 25:14)

You shall rise up before the hoary head, and honour the face of an old man, and you shall fear your God. (Lev. 19:32)

Do not profane your daughter by making her a harlot, lest the land fall into harlotry and the land become full of wickedness. (Lev. 19:29)

You shall not steal, nor deal falsely, nor lie to one another. (Lev. 19:11)

You shall not oppress your neighbour or rob him (Lev. 19:13)

You shall not go up and down as a slanderer among your people, and you shall not stand forth against the life of your neighbour. (Lev. 19:16)

You shall not bear false witness against your neighbour. (Ex. 20:16)

It shall be a perpetual statute throughout your generations, in all your dwelling places, that you eat neither fat nor blood. (Lev. 3:17)

And you shall take no bribe, for a bribe blinds the officials, and subverts the cause of those who are in the right. (Ex. 23:8)

You shall not revile God, nor curse a ruler of your people. (Ex. 22:28)

Six days you shall do your work, but on the seventh day you shall rest; that your ox and your ass may have rest, and the son of your bondmaid, and the alien, may be refreshed. (Ex. 23:12)

If one person sins unwittingly, (due to error or ignorance,) he shall offer a female goat a year old for a sin offering. (Num 15:27)
But the person who does anything with a high hand, whether he is a native or a sojourner, reviles the God, and that person shall be cut off from among his people. (Num 15:30)

The first-born of your sons you shall give to me (refers to 'God'). (Ex. 22:29)
All the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or the fruit of the trees, is the God's; it is holy to the God. (Lev 27:30)
(Note: All the first-born son of every family is to do the work of God, from 25 years to 50 years old, i.e. to teach the people the law and the commandments, and to be judges to administer justice to the people. The tithe of the people are given to the first-born sons as their wages.)

Teachings of Jesus

[ Sermon on the Mount , Matthew Chapter 5 - 7]

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.

Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled by the Holy Spirit.

Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.

Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are you when men revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so men persecuted the prophets who were before you.

You are the salt of the earth; but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trodden under foot by men.

You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hid. Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a bushel, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

Think not that I have come to abolish the law and the prophets; I have come not to abolish them but to fulfil them. For truly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the law until all is accomplished. Whoever then breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but he who does them and teaches them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

You have heard that it was said to the men of old, 'You shall not kill; and whoever kills shall be liable to judgment.' But I say to you that every one who is angry with his brother shall be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother shall be liable to the council, and whoever says, 'You fool!' shall be liable to the hell of fire. So if you are offering your gift at the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar and go; first be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.

Make friends quickly with your accuser, while you are going with him to court, lest your accuser hand you over to the judge, and the judge to the guard, and you be put in prison; truly, I say to you, you will never get out till you have paid the last penny.

You have heard that it was said 'You shall not commit adultery.' But I say to you that every one who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and throw it away; it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body be thrown into hell. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away; it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body go into hell.

It was also said, 'Whoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce.' But I say to you that every one who divorces his wife, except on the ground of unchastity, makes her an adulteress; and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

Again you have heard that it was said to the men of old, 'You shall not swear falsely, but shall perform to the LORD what you have sworn.' But I say to you, Do not swear at all, either by heaven, for it is the throne of God, or by the earth, for it is his footstool, or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. And do not swear by your head, for you cannot make one hair white or black. Let what you say be simply 'Yes' or 'No'; anything more than this comes from evil.

You have heard that it was said, 'An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.' But I say to you, Do not resist one who is evil. But if any one strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also; and if any one would sue you and take your coat, let him have your cloak as well; and if any one forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. Give to him who begs from you, and do not refuse him who would borrow from you.

You have heard that it was said 'You shall love your neighbour and hate your enemy.' But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you salute only your brethren, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? You, therefore, must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Beware of practising your piety before men in order to be seen by them; for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.

Thus, when you give alms, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by men. Truly, I say to you, they have their reward. But when you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your alms may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by men. Truly, I say to you, they have their reward. But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

And in praying do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do; they they think that they will be heard for their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

Pray then like this:

Our Father who are in heaven, Hallowed by they name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; And forgive us our debts, As we also have forgiven our debtors; And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil.

For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father also will forgive you; but if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

And when you fast, do not look dismal, like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces that their fasting may be seen by men. Truly, I say to you, they have their reward. But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, that your fasting may not be seen by men but by your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust consume and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is single (= single for the glory of GOD), your whole body will be full of light; but if your eye is evil, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!

No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.

Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you shall eat or what you shall drink, nor about your body, what you shall put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add one cubit to his span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin; yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O men of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the Gentiles seek all these things; and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things shall be yours as well.

Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Let the day's own trouble be sufficient for the day.

Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you get. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.

Do not give dogs what is holy; and do not throw your pearls before swine, lest they trample them underfoot and turn to attack you.

Ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For every one who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Or what man of you, if his son asks him for a loaf, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him?

So whatever you wish that men would do to you, do so to them; for this is the law and the prophets.

Enter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is easy, that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard, that leads to life, and those who find it are few.

Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thorns, or figs from thistles? So, every sound tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears evil fruit. A sound tree cannot bear evil fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus you will know them by their fruits.

Not every one who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?' And then will I declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from me, you evildoers.'

Every one then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house upon the rock; and the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat upon that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. And every one who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house upon the sand; and the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell; and great was the fall of it.

(Ex 22:28) (Note: In these 20 years, there are a lot of lawlessness and calamities in many places, it it because we have sinned against the LORD. Proper way is : repent, endure patiently, return to LORD; NOT to join gangs to resist and fight. Obeying orders from men and not our conscience, doing secret work such as spying, are not approved by LORD.)

    (Note: When we ponder what to do, our criteria is: is it right in the sight of LORD, or wrong? NOT: is it good to us, or evil to us?)
    And you shall take no bribe, for a bribe blinds the officials, and subverts the cause of those who are in the right. (Ex 23:8)

  4. And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell. (Mt 10:28) (Note: fear GOD)

  1. Unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child, he is the greattest in the kingdom of heaven. (Mt 18:3-4)

    This is the work of GOD, that you believe in him (refers to Jesus) whom he has sent. (John 6:28-29)
    (To correct the ills of a society using our own method is to destroy the work of LORD. "Hold fast onto death the teachings of LORD and Jesus, follow LORD firmly" is to do the work of LORD.)

  1. Blessed are those who mourn ...(Mt 5:4)
    (Note: Someone taught his children never drink wine all their life (Jer 35, Prov 31, 2 Kings 5:26) Jesus taught us to have "walking as in mourning, and NOT playful and laugh" attitude, do you know why? "Play the harlot after demons (Ex 34:12-16) " attitude is not fun.)

  2. You shall not fear other gods or bow yourselves to them or serve them or sacrifice to them; but you shall fear the LORD,...(2 Kings 17:35-39, Is 8)
    (Note: The might of LORD is more than billions of atomic bombs. LORD allows demons to afflict us because LORD wants us learn emergency handling.)

  3. Blessed are the poor in spirit,....(Mt 5:3)
    (Note: Do not say, "I know it already." There are lots of things we do not know. "Learn, improve, all through our life" should be our attitude. Can you answer all questions LORD asked Job on Job 38,39?)

  4. ...for the LORD is a God of recompense, he will surely requite. (Jer 51:56)
    (Note: Requital is 2 times, even 7 times. Fear the LORD. (Lev 26, Deut 32:22-25) )

  5. But the person who does anything with a high hand, whether he is native or sojourner, reviles the LORD, and that person shall be cut off from among his people. (Num 15:30-31)
    And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away; it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body go into hell. (Mt 5:30, Luke 16:19-31)
    When men fall, do they not rise again? If one turns away, does he not return? (Jer 8:4)
    (Note: When we sin unwittingly, do not listen to demons and give up. Humble ourself, correct ourself, confess our sin to LORD, and never do that again. Do not depart from LORD. But never do anything high-handedly.)

The Attitudes of HUSBAND and WIFE

  1. It is not good that the man (refer to Adam) should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him. (Gen 2:18-23. LORD made Eve later.)

    (Note: Unmarried girl is under authority of her father. Married woman is under authority of her husband.)

  3. If a man seduces a virgin who is not betrothed, and lies with her, he shall give marriage present for her, and make her his wife. If her father utterly refuses to give her to him, he shall pay money equivalent to the marriage present for virgins. (Ex 22:16-17)

  4. LORD to house of Joseph (Note: ancient Israel was divided into 2 countries - house of Joseph, and house of Judah) "And I will betroth you to me for ever; I will betroth you to me in righteousness and in justice, in steadfast love, and in mercy. I will betroth you to me in faithfulness...." (Hos 2:19-20)

  5. Because the LORD was witness to the covenant between you and the wife of your youth,... So take heed to yourselves and let none be faithless to the wife of his youth...... For I (refers to LORD) hate divorce,..., and covering one's garment with violence,... So take heed to yourselves and do not be faithless. (Mal 2:13-16)

    Whoever divorces his wife (Mt 5:32 'except on the ground of unchastity') and marries another, commits adultery against her; and if she divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery. (Mk 10:11)

  6. If a man commits adultery with the wife of his neighbour, both the adulterer and the adulteress shall be put to death. (Lev 20:10)

    (Note: When the spirit of jealousy comes upon a man, whether his wife has done some unfaithful act or not, he should go to the LORD with his wife. Such suspension in family, if not settled quickly, will cause many difficulties and sin.)

So father, husband should care more about their daughter and wife, as they often act according to 'good or evil',and NOT 'right or wrong in the sight of LORD? Break the Law and Commandments?')



ATTITUDES TOWARDS OUR CHILDREN

  1. (LORD to Abraham) ... that he may charge his children and his household after him to keep the way of the LORD by doing righteousness and justice;... (Gen 18:17-19)
    (Note: Employees, household servants, even beasts are included.)

  2. (LORD to Moses) Gather the people to me, that I may let them hear my words, so that they may learn to fear me all the days that they live upon the earth, and that they may teach their children so. (Deut 4:9-10)

  3. (Ancient Israelites sojourned in Egypt. The Egyptians dealt harshly with them (Ex 1:11-16, Ex 5) and even killed their male children upon birth. And LORD was about to requite them with 10 plagues.)
    (LORD to Moses) ...that I may show these signs of mine among them (refer to Egyptians) and that you may tell in the hearing of your son and of your son's son how I have made sport of the Eqyptians... that you may know that I am the LORD. (Ex 10:1-2)
    (Note: Bible history as bedtime/meal-time/leisure-time stories to our children. Word of LORD/Jesus, including Law, Commandments, Ordinances, Statutes as inheritance to our children.)

  4. Stand by the roads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls. (Jer 6:16)
    Even the stork in the heavens knows her times; and the turtledove, swallow, and crane keep the time of their coming; but my people know not the ordinance of the LORD. (Jer 8:7-9)

  5. I will chasten you in just measure, and I will by no means leave you unpunished. (Jer 30:11)
    (LORD to Ancient Judah when LORD destroyed them by the Chaldeans and let them be captive slaves) Your hurt is incurable, and your wound is grievous.     (Note: To punish more than one deserves, or to punish less are both wrong. To find fault mercilessly is wrong too. Is it TRUE love if we let our children break loose?)

    (Job to LORD) If I sin, what do I do to thee, thou watcher of men? Why has you made me thy mark? (Job 7:20)
    (Job) ... For he (refer to LORD) is not a man, as I am, that I might answer him, that we should come to trial together. There is no umpire between us who might lay his hand upon us both (Job 9:32-33)
    (Job) I will say to GOD, Do not condemn me; let me know why thou dost contend against me. Does it seem good to thee to oppress, to despise the work of thy hands... (Job 10:2-3)
    (Job) He (refer to LORD) leads counsellors away stripped, and judges he makes fools... He takes away understanding from the chiefs of the people of the earth, and makes them wander in a pathless waste (Job 12:13-25)

    (Note: Job said that LORD wronged and oppressed him. His 3 friends said that LORD could not be in the wrong and that Job or his children must have sinned. LORD approved of Job even Job spoke such things, but punished his 3 friends with 7 bulls and 7 rams. LORD wants us to use our conscience to think consciously and independently. LORD may even test us to see if we follow RIGHT/WRONG or blindly follow his word, (Num 22).
    Was LORD really wrong in his dealing with Job? When we can fully answer LORD's questions to Job on Job 38-39, we may understand better.)

    There are many good examples of teaching our children in the Bible

ABOUT SOCIETY

  1. You shall not afflict any widow or orphan. If you do afflict them, and they cry out to me (refer to LORD), I will surely hear their cry; and my wrath will burn, and I will kill you with the sword, and your wives shall become widows and your children fatherless. (Ex 22:22-24, 23:9)

  2. How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked? Give justice to the weak and fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked. (Ps 82:2-4, Jer 22:3, Is 1:16-17)

  3. (When LORD was about to destroy the ancient world by a flood.)
    (LORD to Noah) I have determined to make an end of all flesh; for the earth is filled with violence through them. (Gen 6:5-13)

    (Before LORD destroyed Jerusalem in ancient time) Is it too slight a thing for the house of Judah to commit the abominations (Note: worship images) which they commit here, that they should fill the land with violence, and provoke me further to anger?... Therefore I will deal in wrath; my eye will not spare, nor will I have pity,... (Eze 8,9. Eze 16:49-50)

    (After LORD has removed Shallum, a king of ancient Israel) But you have eyes and heart only for your dishonest gain, for shedding innocent blood, and for practicing oppression and violence. (Jer 22:11-19)

  4. Do not profane your daughter by making her a harlot, lest the land fall into harlotry and the land become full of wickedness. (Lev 19:29)

  5. (LORD to house of Joseph, where ancient Israel was divided into 2: house of Judah and house of Joseph) O you put far away the evil day, and bring near the seat of violence? Woe to those who lie upon beds of ivory,..., and eat lambs from the flock, and calves from the midst of the stall, who sing idle songs,..., who drink wine in bowls, and anoint themselves with the finest oil, but are not grieved over the ruin of Joseph! (Amos 6)


(Note: LORD view our society as 1 entity. Everyone is responsible for all sin committed in it (Mt 18:15-17, Lev 19:17-18). It is not that 'so long as the one being oppressed is not me, why care about the fate of others' or 'so long as I do not do that, why care about others doing that.'

When someone is to be put to death, 'the witnesses lay their hands on the offender's head, and all congregation stone him to death.' (Lev 24:14)

When Achan sinned and the Israelites took no action, LORD departed from them. (Joshua 7,22) For young girls to be forced into prostitution, young boy/girl committing suicide, construction workers falling to tragic death, factory workers losing limbs, demon worship, adultery, homosexuality,.... if we close our eyes, LORD would send calamities on us.


ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENT

  1. (After Jesus had created food for thousands out of 5 loaves and 2 fish) Gather up the fragments left over, that nothing may be lost. (John 6:1-13)
    (Note: All things are gift from LORD, we must use them with responsibility. If we waste one ton of steel, because of multiplying effect, we waste some tons of coal in refining, some chemical and some fuel too. If we use things many times instead of using it once and throw it away, e.g. glass bottles may be used 50 times of more, then energy consumption may be 1/50 of before!)

  2. (When an cow or sheep is born, we must leave it with its mother for 7 days) (Ex 22:30)

  3. You shall not boil a kid in its mother's milk. (Ex 23:19)
    And whether the mother is a cow or a ewe, you shall not kill both her and her young in one day. (Lev 22:28)

  4. For six years you shall sow your land and gather in its yield; but the seventh year you shall let it rest and lie fallow, that the poor of your people may eat; and what they leave the wild beasts may eat. You shall do likewise with your vineyard, and with your olive orchard. (Ex 23:10-11)
    ..in the seventh year there shall be a sabbath of solemn rest for the land, a sabbath to the LORD; you shall not sow your field or prune your vineyard. What grows of itself in your harvest you shall not reap, and the grapes of your undressed vine you shall not gather; it shall be a year of solemn rest of the land. The sabbath of the land shall provide food for you, for yourself and for your male and female slaves and for your hired servant and the sojourner who lives with you; for your cattle also and for the beasts that are in your land all its yield shall be for food. (Lev 25:4-7)

  5. Six days you shall do your work, but on the seventh day you shall rest, that your ox and your ass may have rest, and the son of your bondmaid, and the alien, may be refreshed. (Ex 23:12)

  6. (When the ancient Israelites was about to enter Canaan, LORD spoke these words to them) When you come into the land and plant all kinds of trees for food, then you shall count their fruit as forbidden; three years it shall be forbidden to you, it must not be eaten. And in the fourth year all their fruit shall be holy, an offering of praise to the LORD. But in the fifth year you may eat of their fruit, that they may yield more richly for you.) (Lev 19:23-25)
    (Note: when the fruit tree is young, do not gather its fruit or we may hurt its health).

Note: Breaking a horse/ass for beast of burden by cruel means, unceasing collection of eggs from hens (by nature, a hen will lay a certain number of eggs before she starts brooding, but if we collect its egg every time it lays it, it will keep on laying until its body wastes away), milking a cow beyond her stength are all acts breaking LORD's Law of kindness and mercy to beasts. Pruning a fruit tree unceasingly until its death also breaks LORD's Law.

How Ancestor Worship Came About in China

In the beginning, ruled over China. When he was old, he desired that would take his place to rule, as was a righteous man and was esteemed to respect his parents greatly by the people. He had work on various positions first, to gain experience. Then he gave in marriage his 2 daughters to as wife.

After praying to LORD (Note : Chinese called LORD , meaning King in Heaven or High heaven), he gave the rule to on the first day of the year.

When became old, and seeing that had proven himself in the taming of water (Note: China was troubled by flood almost year after year, 's father was first assigned the job to tame the water. His father built dykes to contain water, but dykes broke often, and water was not tamed. Seeing this, he took another approach, he used the method of "diversion", building lot of channels, to divert the flow from the river. And this cured flooding, and have the additional benefits of providing irrigation/drinking water to many places. And his method of "diversion" and not "containment" became the standard of water engineering in China.), and he too, after praying to LORD, gave rule of China on the first day of a year.

(meaning serve the people in the fear of LORD) was the words to describe rulers at that time. (Note: in a sense, ruler in ancient China may be compared to judges in the Bible, Chaper Judges).

gave his place to his son when he was old. And from that moments onwards, kingship was not given to the most able, most righteous person, but to sons, in China. After many years, when the kingship was passed to , oppressed the people greatly.

saw it, he sent messengers throughout China, proclaiming "King perverts righteousness, and exalts himself, and oppresses you people ...". And after that, he raised an army to overthrow . Great number of people deflected to him, much to his surprise, and he succeeded in overthrowing .

made his sons king after him, and so it went on this way. When ruled, the moral situtation in China became worse. People started to worship demons, practiced witchcraft, and believed in augury .... When ruled, he killed many righteous people with very cruel means (shed much innocent blood), and he also loved beautiful girls.

, saw this, they rose to overthrow him.

, were very good kings. One of the high ranking official under them, , commented " was righteous indeed, his mercy cannot be measured. ( )".

Descendants of , knew that their fathers returned to LORD after their death, and so they prayed to their fathers, in the hope that their fathers, who were now in the presence of LORD, would intercede for them.

At that time, there was a practice that king would give away pieces of land to people he desired.

After many years, those who had been given land to govern, and who had raised army of their own, became disobedient to the king. Thus it began a long period of great conflicts and wars between the warlords.

Confucius was born then, and he wrote (or spoke) "Analect" (, he also gathered the poems popular then into another book, called . From the poems, one can see how "pure" our ancestors were. Money, possession, fame, life of enemy ... meant little to them. They had the joy of a child.) Confucius taught in his book that we should worship our ancestors. And because of "Analect", ancestors worship became rooted in China.

Over the years, people worshipped their ancestors, and spirits (demons), and also great heros/rulers that had died. And they forgot LORD. Whereas, our earliest ancestors worshipped LORD, and Yahovah is His name.

(I will cease to talk about History. Suffice to say that, among the warlords, one was very crafty. He made alliances with warlords far from his land (those who would not pose any immediate threats to him), to war against the warlords near him. He eliminated them one by one. He eliminated even those who had previously formed alliances with him afterwards. Finally only him was left. But his act displeased LORD, and LORD took away his life shortly after he succeeded in getting the sole kingship in China.)

We, human beings, if we obey the teachings of LORD and Jesus, will not suffer illness, ageing, or death. lived more than 900 years, comparable to those recorded in the Bible. We get sick, age, or die because we disobey LORD, we wouldn't believe their kind teachings, and have wrong attitudes. In doing so, we break LORD's Law, get ourselves into various forms of trouble, thus torturing our spirit continually, and therefore become sick, age, and die.

(Note : We Christians believe Jesus was LORD himself coming into the world in flesh. And teachings of Jesus is the teachings of LORD. Those who believe and walk in Jesus teachings, and repent of their past wrongs because of ignorance, and promise LORD to lead a new life - one lawful and right in the sight of LORD, will be forgiven their past wrongs.)

Now, how about our soul after death. As LORD is GOD OF JUSTICE, those who had sinned (broke LORD's Laws) will be punished in one place called "hell", until he had "paid the last penny", then his soul enters a state of sleep. Those who suffered in flesh, in this life, because others broke the Laws, will enter another place, called "paradise", and be recompensed accordingly, then, also, his soul enters a state of sleep. Finally, come the Judgement Day, when all souls will be resurrected, and those in hell will die forever, and those in paradise will enter the New Heaven and New Earth. [Luke 16:19-31, Dan 12:13, Rev 20,21,22]

(Note : LORD's Laws work like this : if A steals $100 from B, A will be fined double, i.e. $200, and B is to receive this $200 as a recompense. If A causes a disfigurement in B, A will be disfigured. But, beware, never take vengeance with our own hand, or we transgress LORD's Law too. For more details of LORD's Law , see above)

Our life in the present world may be compared to "probation". An employer would put the employee under probation for some months, see how he behaves, before enrolling him as permanent staff. So our life is a probation, to see whether we are worthy for the New heaven and new earth.

Some are exceptions. Some will go back to LORD immediately after death, or even without tasting death, e.g. Enoch, Elijah, Moses, Lord Jesus .... [Mt 17:1-13]

Here are some teachings of LORD,

LORD ruled the earth by His Laws, much like governments do. And LORD's covenant with us is simple : keep the Laws, we will be blessed; break the Laws, we will be cursed. This is the sacred trust a society holds towards LORD. Hence, if we haven't broken LORD's laws, there is nothing to fear, not even demons. Will you fear policeman if you do not break the laws? But if you break the law, do you have the courage to face them, or the angels who uphold LORD's Laws ? [Joshua 1:1-9, Lev 26]
