Tempest

20th Apr 1997 Tempest will close on the 30th of April. See here for the announcement. Anyone who has an account on the server should log on before this date if they want to make sure they don't lose mail due when this happens.

Tempest is a small public BBS, based in Wanchai, Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong. Established in 1992 to serve Mac users and students in Hong Kong, it has since grown to offer access to Windows as well as Mac callers, at speed of up to 28.8 kbps using V.FastClass technology.

Via external gateways Tempest has connections to other FirstClass boards in Hong Kong and overseas, as well as millions of computer users on the global Internet.

Tempest has over 100 message areas, covering topics from religion to networking to games, most of which are linked to other local BBSes or to the worldwide Internet. It has extensive file libraries of almost 2GB of Macintosh freeware, shareware and demos, spread over three CD-ROMs and 500MB of hard disk space. It also runs an online database of all public FirstClass systems worldwide.

To connect to Tempest you must be using FirstClass Client software, versions of which are available for the Macintosh and for Windows.
